From our inception in 2005, we promised ourselves and our customers we would be the kind of company people enjoyed working with and working for. We hold customers and colleagues in the highest regard, and believe there is a place in this world for success in business without sacrificing values, relationships or common sense. Communication with our team is as easy and convenient as the items we make. You can expect high-quality products backed by timely personal support from cheerful people. We promise you will love working with us!
We specialize in careful, consistent, handcrafted milling of selective and non-selective growth media formulations, primarily for researchers working with yeast. We are grateful for our loyal customers around the world working with S. cerevisiae, S. pombe, P. pastoris, and a variety of other organisms in the research, brewing, and biofuel industries.

Liz launched her full-time career in the Southern California biotech industry making kits, cDNA libraries, providing technical support and covering inside sales for Stratagene. She next moved to BIO 101, Inc. to become product manager for the GENECLEAN purification kits, FastPrep homogenizer and the extensive Yeast Media and Bacterial Media product lines. Liz followed the BIO 101 products through the merger that formed Qbiogene and into the acquisition by MP Biomedicals in Irvine, CA. Liz holds an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of California at San Diego and a M.A. degree in Organizational Management. She makes it her mission to ensure everyone plays respectfully together to get the job done efficiently, with compassion for themselves and others, while having fun and putting customers first. Liz, closely supervised by her dog Kyla, enjoys writing with many commas, capturing things with her camera that bring her joy, driving across the desert, and chasing freight trains.

Our efforts are championed by a talented and flexible group of part-time employees, independent contractors, loyal customers, supportive family members, a variety of pets, and the countless single-celled organisms for which we provide food. This community provides us with a supportive framework that is both kinetic and dependable, allowing us to continually grow, adapt, and evolve. We are grateful for everyone who has encouraged, challenged, and congratulated us during our journey, and we look forward to many more years and relationships to come.
