Dave received his Ph.D. in Molecular Virology from Northwestern University, and held a postdoctoral position at the University of Florida. His academic background includes virology, cell biology, molecular biology, and proteomics. Dave has expressed and purified soluble and/or membrane-bound proteins from E. coli, yeast, mammalian and insect cell culture. Dave moved to Quidel Corporation to advance development and manufacturing of immunodiagnostics products. He created and managed the molecular biology and protein expression R&D groups as well as the antibody production and bioreagents manufacturing departments. His role also included troubleshooting and improvement of existing products as well as transfer of new R&D products to manufacturing. As director of manufacturing and R&D at Qbiogene, Dave developed new products for DNA and RNA isolation, and maintained high-quality manufacturing of all purification kits, E. coli media and yeast media formulations. During his tenure, he improved many existing processes and developed innovative new manufacturing methods. Having worked in many diverse areas from a range of different perspectives, Dave’s insight into the mechanics of in vivo and in vitro biological processes allow him to offer highly technical product support, and to effectively troubleshoot problems before or after they occur. Dave’s outside interests include beer brewing, hiking and free flight model airplane building.
Liz launched her full-time career in the Southern California biotech industry making kits, cDNA libraries, providing technical support and covering inside sales for Stratagene. She next moved to BIO 101, Inc. to become product manager for the GENECLEAN purification kits, FastPrep homogenizer and the extensive Yeast Media and Bacterial Media product lines. Liz followed the BIO 101 products through the merger that formed Qbiogene and into the acquisition by MP Biomedicals in Irvine, CA. Liz holds a degree in Biology from the University of California at San Diego and a M.A. Degree in Organizational Management. She makes it her mission to ensure everyone plays well together to get the job done efficiently, with respect for themselves and others, while having a lot of fun, and putting customers first. Liz, while supervised by her dog Kyla, enjoys writing with many commas, capturing things with her camera that bring her joy, driving across the desert, and chasing freight trains.
Becky has been a part of the biotech industry since starting at BIO 101, Inc. There, she was a customer service supervisor, served as the sales and marketing coordinator, held the role of international account executive, and associate product manager. When BIO 101 merged with Qbiogene and then was acquired by MP Biomedicals, Becky was the product manager for all bacterial and growth media. She later moved back to San Diego County to work as the director of sales and marketing for several local companies. She joined the Sunrise Science Products team in 2011 and brings a calm and positive outlook to any project. She is the ambassador for the company at meetings both here and abroad, and coordinates all sales training for the sales team or distributors, both domestic and international. Becky holds a degree in English from the University of California, Irvine, and, when she’s not working, she can be found reading or volunteering for P.E.O., an organization that supports women’s education.
